Sanity check!!!! Tonight my mother informs me that our dog snapped at her. I asked her, "when?" She said, "This evening when you got home from work." I said, "WOW, he has never snapped at anyone...Why would he do that?" My mother tells me that she was pulling his ear! I said, "why would you do that?" She infoms me that she likes the feel of his ears.
Mom decided since I work all week that she will cook dinner Monday through Friday. We have had to endure some really horrible meals. Like chicken meatloaf (don't ask...Its gross!) This evening Mom made a one pan dish that was actually pretty good. While I was cleaning up after dinner.....Me being a smart ass asked Mom if she used all four burners on the stove knowing that she didn't. She told me, "No, why?" I said, "there is pasta all over the place." She told me that she just threw the pasta in the pan because she didn't want to cook...some fell on the floor and the dog ate it.....................When Mom retired for the evening....she told me good night and to have a nice sleep.......she has never said that......I wonder what was really in that dinner?!

I had a nice surprise today. A friend of mine who lives in Washington (state) called me today at work. She told me that she had purchased a Starbucks gift card for me and that I needed to pick it up at the local store here in Cali. I thanked her and said that she really did not need to do that....she said, "go today on your lunch break to pick it up and make sure you have a photo ID with you."
On my break I was debating whether to go or not. I needed to pick up my son who was in the general area of the Starbucks. I knew if I didn't go today the card would still be there tomorrow......in any event I went....in desperate need to use the restroom that was my first stop inside Starbucks. I would deal with the card after. As I was walking through the store.....out JUMPS my friend. I have not seen her in 3 years. I started crying! I was so excited to see her! Our families got together tonight and had dinner. What a nice surprise!

On my way out the door to take my son the his youth group this evening my neighbor decided to going along for the ride...Mom sitting at the dinning room table with her arms across her chest, thumbs taping at the crease of her arm pits, says, "you are going to Costco, aren't you?"
I said, "I didn't plan on going this evening, why?"
Mom: I am out of apple sauce ( mom uses apple sauce to take her pills).
Me: Is there anything else you can take your pills with and I will go to Costco this weekend?
Mom: I could have used the banana's but you threw them away.
Me: I did?
Mom: Yes, they are sitting in the garbage.
Me: I didn't throw them away......I asked my son if he did?
Son: Yes , when I pulled one off this morning the stems on the other two broke so I threw them away.
Mom: I could have used those to take my pills.
Mom with her face all scrunched up glares at my son. I told her that it was no big deal...I would buy her some more this weekend...in the meantime find something else to take your pills with and I leave the house.
My neighbor who witnessed all of this could not believe how mean my Mom as acting!
I told her......all in a days work!
WHAT WAS I THINKING!

Wow...This past year has been an experience I would choose not to do again. My son and I were living peacefully in an apartment. The same apartment for 14 years! I moved in when he was 10 months old.....Although I did not care for the neighborhood and had seen a decline in area the around ...It was home.
Having to step in and help my mother with household chores it became apparent that she needed more. I was working a full time job, a part time job (from home), raising a child, cleaning two households, grocery shopping for two households, paying two sets of bills, etc. A sure fix to the whole idea and to free up some of my time so I could enjoy life a was to combined the two households....WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!
Mom and my Aunt and Uncles came into an inheritance from a cousin who passed away. It was agreed that I would find us a place to buy and use part of Mom's inheritance for the down payment on a house. I would carry the mortgage as my part of the deal and we would combined households.....WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!
