Scary but True....
As retrieve the mail yesterday, there laid an envelope from the DMV. I reminder that my drivers licenses expires next month along with the reminder that yet I turn another year older!

I sit to brace myself as I opened the envelope wondering what might lay ahead of me....a written test? Another picture? A behind the wheel test?

Much to my surprise I just need to pay. With a clear driving record all these years....yes, clear....not even a single parking ticket out of my 29 years of driving I just need to pay. As I think back over the years of having to renew my licenses.....the last time I took a written driving test was when I was 15 1/2 years old to get my permit..... The scary question is......Would I be able to pass the written now?

Another One
I just finished reading my fourth books since I have been off. "The Wedding" by Nicholas Sparks. What a sweet book....I started reading it yesterday and finished it this morning. I have read about four of Sparks' books and find them to be very heartwarming and some even touching my soul. Time to take a break from this genre and on to something different. I will have to scan my bookshelf & find some action packed adventure or something of the sort.

Today marks the 4th week since my surgery! In all I feel pretty darn good. I have some days when its a little tough (when I over do it) but for the most part things are coming along. I am excited to heal completely and get my life back. The life that I put on hold for almost 2 years. I have so much to catch up on!

TIME...??
Its hard to believe that I had my second shoulder surgery was almost 4 weeks ago! I am doing so much better at this point then I did after my first surgery. I had about 100 stitches on the inside and around the same amount on the outside. Physical Therapy twice a weeks has really helped me come along.

I have been taking it easy and enjoying being home (this time).

I have read 3 books, which is amazing for me since I am not much of a reader. I read Marly & Me, The Shack & The Rescue, all pretty good.

Here is a pix of my scar! Pretty gross...huh?

Wow...Again its been a While!!!

Looks like I have a bunch to catch up on.......

1st......My prayers and thoughts are to my sister-in-law Gail who had emergency surgery the other day. I hope for a speedy recovery!!!!

I will do the most current and work my way down.

March 14th
We had a sleep over...Tracy, Brittney, Shane and myself...oh and Teddy too. Shane got up the next morning and fixed all of us breakfast. I love when Shane cooks eggs. He does such a good job!

And he even served us!! What more could you ask for?

James has been staying with me the past two months...waiting for a spot at the appropriate VA program to open up. Having him around has been an eye opening experience for me since we have always joked throughout the years that we can only stand to be around each other for two weeks & then we get on each others nerves. Two months was sure a test for the both of us as I know we both irritated each other...but continued to work through it. James left on March 1st to the Menlo Park VA. I hear from him every day if not several times a day.....so he's not that far away!
When I see this look...I know I am pushing the limit!!

February 24th.
I had my second surgery on my left shoulder....Sorry, I do not have pictures this time!!!
I had a real rough first 4 days but since then I have been on a uphill climb to recovery. I am going to physical therapy twice a week & as of right now I am really enjoying the time off work!!

February 15th & 16th
Surprise...Surprise... Surprise...This whole weekend was awesome!!! Surprises were around every corner!!
My sis-in-law Gail and her family planned on coming over for a visit after Jacobs wrestling match & we were going to do dinner (spaghetti, etc.). In the meantime my younger brother Scooter called & said that he was in town (from Washington State) and that him and his two kids were coming to visit & stay the night! The 15th happen to be Scooters 36th Birthday! So I decided to quickly make something in celebration of his special day!
Since my niece Haeli's birthday was at the end of January and my nephew Alex's birthday was in November I thought we could celebrate all of their special days.

I gave the kids the camera and let them go. There was some very interesting pictures to say the least. We had 19 people over and had a fun time visiting, eating dinner & desert ! What a nice way to spend the evening!
The Birthday Boy!

Alex & Haeli

Gail

Jacob, Gerald, James & Mike

Opps!

On the 16th we went and surprised Mom. She did not know that Scooter was in town. She was so happy to see all of us. She has not seen Scooter or the Grandkids in about 2 years.

IT WORKED!! - James Update
It's been a long two weeks! I have hit just about every fast food restaurant in my area filling James' order of desired food since he says the hospital food is not good. I even got a call this morning at 6am to do a Starbucks run (which I didn't...too early & too cold!). James' speech is coming back and he sounds better every day. He looks great and as of this evening he was transferred to the VA hospital in Palo Alto. I have been praying that a bed would open up there since that is the VA hospital that will be able to continue his recovery and he would get the proper care that he needs! So this evening I did my last fast food run....James requested a BigMac, strawberry shake w/ french fries and a package of Suzy Q's. Before I could even make it to the hospital he was calling me... "Hurry up....Hurry up..there are here to take me!" Of course I hit every red light on the way and when I got into the hospital they had him on the gurney outside his room ready to go. They waited for me. I plopped his BigMac in his lap, gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheek...told him to behave.....and off he went! I am sure he will be calling me once he gets settled.

Keep the Prayers Coming...It's working!
My son's father James, had a falling accident this past Monday where he slipped on ice/snow and hit his head. He was taken to emergency in Lakeport on Wednesday where they air lifted him to Santa Rosa with bleeding on the brain. His speech was very garbled because of the pressure. Through prayers and good thoughts they have now moved him from ICU to a regular room, the bleeding has stopped and slowly his speech is coming back. They will be transporting him to a VA Hospital within the next couple of days to continue his recovery. Please continue to send good thoughts and prayers that he will fully recover from his ordeals as he has had a difficult time since he has returned from Iraq this past June. XOXOXO Suzi & Shane

NONA JEAN

We fostered Nona for one week and today she went to her new foster home. I met the lady (Debbie) who drove 2 hours to come pick her up. She has puppy raised for us in the past and just fell in love with her. Debbie is happy to be fostering a puppy through the holidays! She has three has other dogs for Nona to play with. I was able to sit and talk with her for awhile and let her know about Nona, her schedule & the middle name I gave her (Jean). I gave Nona a kiss & hug and told her I would see her again when she to was all grown up & turned back in to CCI for advanced training!

Teddy is Not Sure
A few weeks ago by the request of my doctor I took a sleep test. Since my Mom has sleep apnea he wanted to make sure I did not. It runs in families. My test results came back that I had sever obstructive sleep apnea. Apparently during the test I stopped breathing 66.8 times per hour which equals a little over once every minute. Also, I only had 28 minutes of "good" sleep out of 5 hours & 59 minutes of my total sleep time. Gezzz I wonder how long I have had this and how long I have been functioning on 28 minutes or so of "good" sleep per night?? In any event I picked up my CPAP machine today. They told me that it was going to take a while to get use to it and to acclimate myself with the mask to wear it in the evening while watching TV, reading or?? So as I type this I have it on. Teddy is just beside himself. He does not know what to think about this getty-up and looks at me with a pitiful look and is not sure if he should come up to me. I am sure it will take a while for him to get use to it...just as it will be for me. Lets all hope I finally get a safe good night sleep!
